Anybody camping on Thanksgiving?

For those of us south of the border that celebrate Thanksgiving this week, anybody hitting the trail? Where are you camping?

We camped last Thanksgiving and did a dutch oven turkey and dutch oven leftovers the day after at El Capitan State Beach just north of Santa Barbara. Forecast is in the mid 70's so we decided to do it again. Happy Thanksgiving!

You dont know me! A red cup is an improvement over the paper bag I usually drink out of! A fabulous $2.00 wine deserves crystal stemmed glassware? The red cups and cheap red wine are actually leftover from our sumptuous appetif of poutine under glass. The Mouton-Rothschild we normally drink with dinner is just off camera.

(how's that?)

Very Good! (But, isn't that two buck chuck, which is now $2.50)

El Capitan IS a great campground. We've been going there for 40 yrs. (BTW: UP has been running more freight trains lately, so you'll have the additional ambiance. )

My most memorable Thanksgiving was 1971 at Yosemite Valley in my 1st RV. The last two entries kind of preempt this additional comment: I drink 2-buck-Chuck out of anything but a wine glass, which is a step up in class (and down on quantity) from my college days - Thunderbird out of a jug slung over my shoulder.

We are actually celebrating American Thanksgiving here tonight ( a little early ).
It's just an excuse for Leslie ( the Old Bag ) to roast another turkey and stress over the meal. I settle for indigestion later.

We too are celebrating Thanksgiving at El Capitan - our favorite campground. We'll be there on Wednesday. I'm bringing good wine to wash down the poutine and then I'm going to take a shower. ;-)

The maiden voyage for our new 19 is over Thanksgiving. We'll spend tomorrow night at Woodson Bridge RV Park in Corning, CA, then up to our ranch where it will be an outdoor Thanksgiving with family and friends. Three trailers, truck camper, motor home, and some pople staying in very rustic fishing cabins. Going to spit a pig, deep fry a turkey, and enjoy good friends, family and great wine.

Sounds wonderful.
Especially having an alternative to turkey.

Let the laughs begin! I'll be looking for you, we're in 105, pulling in tomorrow pm. Heck, this is a micro-rally! Jalama will be a tough act to follow but I think we're up to the challenge!

Greg

PS-can I put sirachi on my turkey poutine?

Plan on September at Jalama. Escapes only (but nobody checks!). That's when things get wild! Me thinks we're going too busy eating this week to stir up much trouble.

Do you have an idea when in September? Will you be posting in the Rallies forum?
