We drop camped in ID in the totality for 100 ish seconds. Amazing. had good milky way sightings. Also, I'm hoping for an escape/eclipse combo in calendar next year from someone!

Idaho Eclipse

Where did you end up in Idaho? We were at my bosses ranch about 30 miles north of Emmett ID, north of Ola, ID. It was awesome

In the Copper Basin, west of Mackay. So the map suggests nearly east of Emmet

Been there on our way to the Starhope campground. We do trail runs through the Pioneer mountains just west of where you were. Beautiful country. Peaks between 11,000 and 12,000 feet high.

I'd gone up to Ontario, OR right on the Idaho border to meet friends. Stayed in the county fairgrounds rv spots. Lucky I got that space before they started raising the rate much.

My friends are a bunch from NASA Ames and had been researching for a year. Had picked that spot with a combination of weather, just off centerline so not as crowded etc. Spectacular view, my 2nd total eclipse. I left right after the eclipse west on hwy20 then south on 395 and no major traffic jams at all. Spent several days in Lassen before coming home.
