Bainbridge-Seattle Ferry

Looking for opinions and advice. I will be picking up my 21 next August and will stay on the Olympic peninsula Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat and possibly Sun. Staying at Elwha Dam RV Park. I would like to take the Bainbridge ferry to Seattle for one or two days. Which days and times would be the best? Of course, all of this is subject to change and probably will. Don't even ask about my build sheet. I am waiting for my sailor son to return from the Persian Gulf in Nov to get his input on things. As it is now, I change my mind on something every few days.

Best bet would be to take a walk-on to the ferry day trip to Seattle (or more than one day trip) and skip the long summer ferry lines. Second best- take car only over. If you do take either just the tow or the tow and trailer, plan for at least an hour wait even at the best time. Best would be Tuesday or Wednesday between about 9 am and 3 PM. (Leave after 9, return before 3). I'm basing this on other ferries in the system and what summers look like but this is the busiest month of the year for ferries.

When you get your trailer you can head down 5 (or 9, a back road) to highway 20 and then towards Whidbey Island and take the ferry to Port Townsend to get to the Peninsula. That ferry will take reservations (required for trailers) so isn't a problem as long as you plan ahead. (Which you apparently do!) Reserve ahead for the RV park, too.
