Maybe we should put discussions on Global Warming on the ban list along with politics.

How we digressed from talking about beautiful Baja beaches to this is what makes the forum unique.

Yup, but it drives folks looking for info about a specific topic nuts. I'm surprised no ones asked what Mexican poutine tastes like.

It's no secret that there's lot's of differing views on Mexicans. Here's 3 events that pretty much illustrate my experience in Mexico.

1. There was a robbery at a nearby beach. This isn't my first hand knowledge but I was told that it was posted on Facebook and I did talk to some folks at that beach and it probably happened. Although why he was out on the beach at 6:00 am and why he had 6,000 pesos to hand over do raise some questions in my mind.

At any rate, that incident will very firmly confirm the views of those at Q'site that blanch and shake their heads when you say that your next destination is Baja.

2. Our fridge stopped working and it was very hot. The owner of the RV park heard of our problem when some other residents translated our asking about local ice sources. He went off in his car, returned about 20 minutes later with a large amount of ice. When we asked the cost he quoted an amount just over a dollar. We gave him more.

3. One of our group bought some seafood from a passing beach vendor. The cost was 200 pesos. So he gave him two 100 pesos notes.

The vendor walked away, then came back and said "too much". He'd been given two $100 US bills. Just a little more than two $100 pesos.

So, take what you want from those anecdotes. There's something for every view there. If I decide not to go back to Baja it'd be for things like poor roads, not the Mexicans.

Did you just say he gave the vendor two $100 dollar bills for seafood Sounds like somebody had too much tequila with their fish taco.

Yah, well the person is Canadian and to us American bucks and pesos both look like funny money.

Actually, based on the strength of the Margaritas at the local beach bar near to where we stayed, its quite possible!
