Best Route From North Van to Cache Creek?

Hi all:
Any one of You have travelled (With Your Escape) from North Vancouver to Cache Creek?
I hear that some prefer to go by hope and continue north to Cache Creek.

I think (I don't know) Hwy. 99 from Pemberton--> Lillooet to Cache Creek has to do with their decision

Thanks in Advance.

Gerardo.

Re: Best Route From North Van to Cache Creek?

We have traveled the two ways to get to Cache Creek many times and both are interesting if done for the first time. Both are virtually the same distance. We prefer going Via Pemberton because it is more peaceful and less travelled. However the hills are steeper and the roads although paved are narrower and twistier. The scenery is great regardless of the route you choose but we prefer the Duffy Lake (Pemberton) road if you have the extra time.
However we have only done it pulling 2000 pounds with a Dodge Caravan but see no issue pulling the extra 1000 pounds of an Escape with a better tow vehicle.

Brian:
Thank You very much for Your answer, sounds very tempting the route by Pemberton and the Duffey Lake Rd. The Scenery, Less Travelled and peace makes of the trip worth to try it.

Timing wise the freeway is quicker but the scenery is better the Duffy Lake Road..
Haven't taken the trailer Duffy Lake Road yet--but my parents live in Clinton so we go the freeway route a lot!!!!!

I've been thinking of moving to Hope.

Anything to avoid Highway #1 from North Van to Hope.

I live in the Steveston area and it's no fun going in either direction until you get past Horse Shoe Bay or Chilliwack. After that you can relax and enjoy the ride.I usually leave town before 6:00am and come back into town after any rush hours about 7:30pm

Baglo:

According to Google Maps, you can't get to Hope from Despair.

"We could not calculate directions between Hope, BC and Mt Despair."
