"Desolation" and "Isolation" are some of the big attractions of the Park. While it might not feel that way in the Chisos Basin or RGV campgrounds, you can always reserve a backcountry drive-up campsite to call your own. Most of these require a modest amount of clearance and possibly 4X4, but a few are quite suitable for small travel trailers. At night, in one of these sites you can imagine that you are the last people left alive on the planet.

Interesting, Alan. My sister lives in Alpine. I don't think we can get to BB this year, because we are going to Arizona in March, for some of the spring training baseball camp shenanigans. But will be interested in how things go for you at RGV - maybe next year we could plan on it (assuming you love it and have a do over).

FWIW, I think there's a Casita gathering in Lajitas (Casitas in Lajitas) either this month or next. Maybe some of them will also spend a couple nights in RGV.

Well, considering the close DNA match with Escape, we'll give Casitas a warm welcome also.
