Boondocking spot near Lebec, Sandburg, Castaic CA, or nearby ? open 365 days
Boondocking spot near Lebec, Sandburg, Castaic CA, or nearby ? open 365 days
Hi all
Title says it all…. I’m looking for a very quiet, scenic campground (or BLM / similar) campsite
No hookups needed….. no facilities needed at all.
the quieter the better. Dont want to be near ATVs or yahoos or a freeway. ;-)
4WD pickup truck and truck camper, so no towing.
Needs to be open 365 days - so no snow / high altitude.
The one place I have found so far is:
Pyramid Lake Los Alamos Campgrounds
Hard Luck Rd, Lebec, CA 93243
any other suggestion?
thanks
J.

Google works great if you ever need to research something. Took me 5 seconds to find those pics.

I used Google maps for the satellite view. Where is that lake relative to the campground?

Understand wanting to flee LA Los Angeles.....did you get your truck camper and want a close Maiden Voyage?
Consider Tapo CG near Simi Valley.

Just renting a truck camper so we can check it out.
and...
thanks for the Tapo CG suggestion.... we'd much rather be much closer to Lebec - to see some friends up there.
cheers

Not much, Ross. Haven't been there in 30 years or more. Last camping in the county was near Rose Valley in the Sespe back country.
It's kind of funny: we live a few miles from the beach; we can see the Islands (Channel Islands National Park) from here. But, when we camp we leave Ventura County and go to Montana de Oro SP, San Simeon SP, or head to the eastern Sierras (our favorites; we do love trout!).
