Very nice Steve. How much power are you producing now with aiming the panels?

The batteries got down to 12.5 volts early this morning with the refer and space heater going. It is 11:06 AM and I've got my 2500 watt inverter turned on charging my laptop and see 17 amps bulk charging on the solar controller with the inverter load with 13.5 volts on the batteries. It will be around 20 amps by 1:00 PM. BTW, it took about 15 minutes to setup the panels when we arrived. Pretty happy with the performance so far. I had to turn the refer down to 3.75 from 4.5 because some food was freezing a little. This will take my refer duty cycle down somewhere below 40%.

Sounds like this compressor fridge/extra solar project is no longer an experiment but a total success. Great job.

Merry Christmas Escapee friends, from San Clemente. We have been here almost a week and today is the first day I've been a bit chilled....64 degrees, brrr.
We will celebrate our last evening here with a feast of poutine!

Happy New Year from San Clemente from the California SCABs!

Happy 2015 from the SCAB's (SouthernCaliforniaescApeBunch). Here's our New Years greetings. We started the celebration a little early and feasted on delicious RoadKill Poutine! (recipe hint, the lizard added a lovely texture to our feast!). Los Deliquentes were in rare form and the ladies wouldn't let us sit together.

(front row: Greggo and HotLavaLady, standing Hotfishtacos, Jane M, Lori, and Mrs. Greggo).

Let the good times roll!

It was wonderful seeing everyone! Now home after a grueling drive with more traffic than expected. Happy New Year!

San Clemente

Jane, Lori and everyone there, Nancy and I went a week earlier with the car trailer, stayed at the Best Western for our car thing and someone made me an offer I couldn't refuse so we left for home after two days with a empty trailer and a full pocket. The car is now in the show room at a Porsche dealer in Long Beach as they sold the car originally, 50 years ago.
We enjoy SC and would like to have a semi-permanent place there. Great restaurants, weather, views, location and beach trail, but Chico has a lot of trouble when the marines start firing the big cannons and the ground must vibrate as well as the noise. Doheny camp ground we stay at occasionally, but no hook-ups and more kids. We had to evacuate from there one time when they thought the wave from Japan might flood us out, a couple of hours and we returned with the trailer.
Sounds like you had a good time. We wish everyone a happy and prosperous new year.
Jack and Nancy

Howdy Jack! San Clemente was gorgeous. Ann and I did a drive-by too. Trailer had to stay home.

Hope to see you and Nancy at Jalama in September. Maybe you can get a site with a little better view of something besides the bathroom! Dates forthcoming.

For some time I've been trying to convince Angela we should drive south for a little warm weather, especially after seeing the pictures posted above. If we got at least as far as San Francisco we'd be sipping Mojitos on the beach. After seeing video this morning of southern snow, I'm glad we stayed home We'll try again in the spring when you folks get your weather issues sorted out

The cold weather was a gift from you Northerners! I admit the days down here got down to an artic 57 degrees at the beach for a couple days. We just put a little less ice in the margaritas! Life is always good at the beach.

Hey Dave, If you leave now, you can probably get to Southern CA by Saturday when it's suppose to begin warming up....high 70s. Come join us in Sept for our SCABs rally in Jalama, it's pretty spectacular!
