Crater Lake and Mt. Lassen

First 10 day trip in the 15A! We did the volcanic tour and stayed near Crater Lake and then onto Mt. Lassen. Great views and the Escape worked out great. The KOA in Shingletown, CA near Mt. Lassen National Park was very nice, had great facilities, and was well cared for.

Nice! We visited Lassen many years ago with my kids (tent and Mazda van) and my sister and her kid. And I'm ashamed to say I've never been to Crater Lake but it is on the list.

On the way up to pick up our trailer we camped at Crater Lake in a mini-tent! Ohhhh, it was cold during the September evenings and very warm in the day! Oregon Forest Fires put a damper on the views but we still enjoyed the steep hike to the lake. We can't wait to visit again!

On the way home and with our Escape, we were in luxury. Our tent days are over!

Wow, you got all that stuff in one camp site? Must have been pretty big! When I rented a motorhome last year, I don't remember any sites being that large.

Yay for the trailer working well for your trip! Crater Lake is on our list of places to go, even though we've both been there before. But never in our very own trailer.

Nice campsite Kim.

One hint about deploying the awning: slide the support rails all the way to the top until they lock. Once the awning is raised, pull down on the awning ends and tighten the black knob on the support arms. It will keep the awning taut and keep it from sagging or flapping - particularly when there's a breeze.

Here's the old Escape Training video, where you can watch Tammy describe all the features and how they work. The awning instruction is at about 16:30.

I took screen shots of Tammy deploying the awning and put them into a document. AFTER you few the video, the information here may make more sense. After you successfully deploy the awning a couple of times, you'll be a pro!
