Day 31 & 32 , 60F, Wind 10mph, Bay Hide Away RV Park, Bay St Louis, MS

This RV park is nice, the internet is very good & the place looks well kept.

Stayed back an extra night in Austin last night, the scenery has turned green all around us, yeyyyy, I seem to take the green for granted but when I was in the SW part of the country I had enough of that brown desert. The drive today on I-10 & I-12 was surrounded by green everywhere, seemed full of life again, and in this part of the country you see people, yes people to a contrast of cactus for miles & miles & not a soul. I am sorry I digress. I am feeling happier, after shaking off that flu I feel a little stronger too.

There is lot of construction for miles & miles on I-10 in Louisiana & that is good as the state of road desperately needs help. I-12 drive on the north side of Lake Pontchartrain is beautiful, the suburbs of Mandeville, Covington & Slidell which were in their infancy during my visit there 27 yrs back have become such nice places to live & work.

Well, our 'winging it' trip is coming to a close soon, learnt a lot of things, RVing things, met people from different part of the country & it was an all together a new & a different kind of experience for me & DW.

Off to Chattahoochee in the morning, near Tallahassee, our good old Florida....

Hi Raj, I will be welcoming you home with a phone call and talks about RVing. Looking forward. Thanks for your help with a tow vehicle. I decided on a Jeep Grand Cherokee with tow package and extra safety features. So far, I am very happy with it. But getting my FG trailer comes next!

Day 33, at Home in Orlando Fl, 71F, Wind 11mph, Humidity 81%
It is the end of the ' winging trip 'across the country (& the continent).

We are happy to be home, our dog seems happy to be in his regular larger bed, his quarters & the back yard. Home is still standing, Lawn Guy & Gardener have kept up with things.

Last night we were at Triple C Camp Ground in Chattahoochee, although the recovery from the storm Michael is near complete, it is a so so camp ground with no internet, I could not prevent the dirt & mud from getting into the Camper & the car. 4 1/2 hours drive back home, after driving on all kinds of roads all over the country, makes me appreciate the Florida Roads, yes many time better.

I want to thank everybody & specially Jim, Jon, Donna, Glenn, Don & Steve who answered my SOS posts & helped me on this journey as they do every camper on this forum every day. This Forum will not be as robust & informative without you guys, & we all benefit from you & your experience .

My best to everyone..........

Sorry I could not return your call as I was very busy packing & getting the camper ready for the trip.

I also enjoyed your reports; especially the paragraphs and capitalization.

Thumbs up

Eight months later … and I also enjoyed your posts, as I'll be leaving Houston, TX to pick up my own 17B in October. I've made note of your experiences - good and bad - and wish there were several other such posts here on the forum, because I have much to learn. I could see myself making some of the same mistakes you made and am hoping that all of my note-taking and the advice of those who helped you out will keep me on track. I feel fortunate to have found such a supportive group here.

I see that you've sold your 17B. Hope you found something larger to suit your needs and that you're still travelin' on!
