First Camping Trip of 2012

19 did not like moving outside after spending the winter in the nice dry shop. 19 is going on its first camping trip of 2012 at the Oregon Coast this weekend. 19 heard it is going to be very wet.

What! You must have rocks in your head or at least in a box. Happy rock collecting!

It's called "storm watching".

Your 19 will not be the only one in the area! We're heading down the Oregon Coast towards California starting this weekend. Trying to find some warmer and drier weather. Getting the camping season off to an early start.

Our first camping trip was three weeks ago. Went to a local beach campground for the weekend. Forcast for this week is highs around 70, lows in the mid 40's. 8)

Hoping to get out again in a few weeks.

Mountain Mike: Have fun on your trip south. Wish we could join you. Currently there is about four feet of snow in front of our 19's storage stall. We'll be lucky to get out before June !! See you in July.

We just returned Feb 14 from Bullards Beach, Cape Lookout and Fort Stevens State Parks. It did get a little damp at times.

We'll probably stop up in Gettysburg first - my RV dealer (Beckley's) is right on the way!

Re: First Camping Trip of 2012

This weekend (St Patricks) will be my first 2012 trip! Equally rainy I expect. Going with a friend who just bought a 24' View (all different tastes, I guess ) It will be her first trip so we'll spend some time getting her familiar with her rig and using my rig as a backup for anything she forgot.

I'll post soggy pics when I get back.

All of you have fun on the Oregon Coast. Our first trip will be to Beachside State Park, south of Waldport. It is right on the beach and a fun place with hiking and kayaking close by. I do find myself keeping an ear out for the tsunami sirens!

Re: First Camping Trip of 2012

We just made it back from our trip to the Oregon Coast. Picked up our Escape 19 on March 9th, and made it to Lincoln City just in time for the worst winter storm they've had since 1969. Got over 6" of snow, and at least that much rain, mixed with 80 mph wind gusts.

Trailer was great, and didn't have any trouble finding a campsite...

Re: First Camping Trip of 2012

Hi, We're heading out tomorrow morning for Penticton and area, hope there isn't snow like you got. We spent the last week getting everything set up and picking up some odds and ends. We had to cover the step as our dog caught her toe-nails in the holes. We thought she tore one out on the first time down. She yelped in pain so that had to be fixed right away. Installed the TV. my self and the microwave, both work well we get 7 channels on the antenna with the booster, not bad five english and two are french. The bed is OK but well get some memory foam for the top to improve it some.

And last but not least it's Lucy-Dog. AKA, Devil Dog. all she wants to do is just get going all-ready.
It will be her first trailer trip.
The next picks will be on the road.

Re: First Camping Trip of 2012

You are only allowed to post two at a time. That's to prevent another weekend like the one we had where posts were arriving from a spammer faster than we could delete them.

Re: First Camping Trip of 2012

The antenna is the stocker from Escape Trailers.. It has the booster,. Works well in town and the reception is all digital.
Thanks for the heads up on the two pick posting.

You have to wait a couple minutes between posts for the same reason.
