Thanks, all. My landscape photography was hampered by haze produced by the wildfires, so I didn't get many good shots, and the ones I took required some post-processing to make them usable. I kept reminding myself that what was an inconvenience to me was a tragedy to many others who lost their homes and/or businesses in the fires.

In Winthrop I met a retired couple who lived in Wenatchee, about 100 miles south of there. They told me it was a nice place to live in retirement, as it was about the right size, was scenic, had good medical care, etc. Then a few weeks later I saw on the news that wildfires had destroyed hundreds of homes in Wenatchee. I keep wondering how they made out.

Nice pictures -- so artistic -- I woke up to see the Perseids and did see several. My astronomer husband woke up first and was disappointed because there were so few.

I guess my timing was off. That photo was a five-minute exposure taken at around 3:30 - 4am on Wednesday 8/12. I watched the sky while the shutter was open and saw nothing, though that night was supposed to be the peak of the shower. Two nights before I looked out my trailer's window and saw two meteors in short order, but thought "naw, I'll wait to set up the camera until Wednesday, to catch them at their peak." Arrgh.

If ever plugged in, you can use the Progressive EMS, if you have one, to see when the water heater has stopped after 30-40 minutes. I don't actually consider your cost for propane to be that much --- a little more than a slightly expensive hotel for one night!

We wish we had a switch for the electric for water heater inside. ETI would not put one. Wonder why they will not. Have to ask.

Refrigerator is only supposed to work up to about 90 F.

That is quite a huge trip. You are definitely getting your money's worth with the trailer. We drove nearly 8000 in six or seven weeks (for pick-up including without trailer) with many one-night stops. Wish we could have taken the time you did! That is our last trip up there --- for a while anyway!! You took some great photos. We also saw a lot before the smoke was more prevalent.

Great pictures. I grew up in the Palouse and miss those rolling hills!

I'm curious about your addition of a second solar panel. We're having a 21 built and are planning on just one. We're planning to go full time. Should we have two installed?

In the electrical panel there is a breaker for the water heater, all breakers are listed for switch duty. That is how I control the water heater.

Yes, I saw the thread you started about getting two panels. I think it's worth asking ETI about. Instead of doing things piecemeal as I did, I recommend either having ETI install both panels or have the entire solar power system installed by someone else. If you intend to spend winters in your RV, you might find one panel is inadequate to keep the batteries charged when the sun is low in the sky and you're running the furnace a lot.
