Here's another vote for the east side of the park. We've tent camped at Many Glacier several times and thought it was great; it would be our 1st choice on our next trip to the park. The Many Glacier hotel was an awesome retreat and a welcome respite for a couple of wet and cold tent campers on several occasions. One of our all time favorite hikes was from the campground to Iceberg Lake. Glacier NP-2367.jpg
this is inspirational! So I think I'll stick with the original plan to stay on the east side. We've had to change other plans because we're leaving the east coast later than we'd planned -- which is causing us to miss the Escape Rally.
So we're about to leave and I'm mulling over our trip and then I remember that our son has a dog and that dogs aren't allowed on the trails in the national park. Does anyone know anything about the Flathead lake area?
