Wow, what a stunner of a bird for your cover picture. What is it? (I'm not a birder.) Love the other photos in your post.

That is a Red-legged Honey Creeper from Panama. Taken in Panama this March. Thanks for the nice comment.

Wow, bird sex, not something I expected to see.

(now, if that won't get others to look at your blog, I don't know what will.)

Your photos are fabulous! I particularly like the ones of the gray catbird; my favorite bird.

Lots of very nice photos. I have always wanted to see a Lazuli bunting. We have migratory indigo buntings down here in the spring and I enjoy seeing them. We have a pair of catbirds nesting at our place this spring. In late afternoon we get a concert of every bird song sung throughout the day as a cover album by Mr. Catbird. I have one question about your trip which some might find frivolous but would be important to me. Were the bugs bad? Thanks for all the photos, I'd like to get up in that country sometime.

Hi Dave. The bugs were only annoying at Green Lake where we close to the water. At Tunkwa and Seaton they were almost non-existent. Thanks for the comments.

Hi: Iowa Dave... Down here in S. Wet Ontario we have enough bugs to feed the entire bird population. After the last rain the snails were everywhere too!!! Alf
