How great is that!!! What an adventure and thanks again so much for sharing. The pictures are an added bonus. I would bet she holds the record for the most miles for the fewest turns of her wheels. Congratulations and happy travels.

Google Translate is unbelievable. Although I figured out what was said by deduction, Google did it (and in very good English) in 0.36 seconds.

That sounds almost like Plattdeutsch. The world is small: I grew up in the north west part of Germany, in Ostfriesland. Just one car hour away from Groningen. Groningen is a very pretty town!!

Well "gharms" ... it truly is a small world! My German cousins are coming from Emstek (Cloppenburg/Oldenburg) for a three week visit in August. I'm hoping they're able to bring us some Friesengeist (which you've probably sampled). And, you're right ... that is a beautiful area!!

Hi Seef
Congrats on the arrival of your 5.0, the pics look great! You must be anxiously awaiting your modifications so that you can get out camping.
You must have been disappointed in your team's result today, what a way to lose on penalty shots, I was cheering all through for Holland.

No problem I use Google frequently for my English, just to check if i'm right or writing bull.
My wife is from Groningen too (Grootegast). So i know how to handle Groningers (which are a different species all together ).
Have fun!

Ahh, our friends from Germany. I actually speak the Frisian language (the 2nd national language in The Netherlands).
That Frisan Language will bring you all the way to Denmark via Ost Friesland. If that doesn't work out i just try German.
Ost Friesland is a beautiful place to visit, nice people, very good beer.
I never had Friesengeist, have to give that a go next time when we're in Ost Friesland.
Have fun!

Yep sight unsee, but only thanks to the forum, without the whelth of info and cheering reviews from Escape owners i don't think i would have ordered our sight unseen.
We're better of with the beers than with the cash, it was way too little to change it back to euro's considering the costs involved.
Besides that, zipping a Molson Canadian brings me back to our 2012 tour through Alberta and British Columbia (see Seef en Yvonne on the road it is in Dutch but the pictures will give you an idea).
It seems we passed through/by Chilliwack than unknowingly it was house to the best RV manufactorer in the world.
Have fun!

We are not accustomed to beer exchanges, most people overhere seem to just drink lager. But it will be a nice idea for our next party.
First impressions:
It is all we thought it would be.
We have seen some USA made stuff (RV's/Pop UP's/Trailers) overhere but they mostly look very strange to us, much use of fake wood (not our taste) strange lay-out's, over the top appliances, sloppy in the finish of the work.
The Escape is more down to earth so to say. Honest materials, good quality craftmanship, no sloppy work.
Cubbards look great, everything opens and closes as it should, the Stainless Steel Stove, range hood and sink look GREAT!
Did not have much time to investigate properly but after we get her back we will have time enough for that and we will let you guys know what we think of it.
Have fun!
Severinus and Yvonne

LOL @ Jim!
Seef, Ostfriesland beer IS good indeed!! I miss Jever Pilsener; cannot get it here in the US but love it. However, I cannot do Schnaps such as Friesengeist or Winter's Klarer. That is ick for me. About Frisian language: I remember how many kids at school kind of laughed at my friends and me for talking Plattduetsch instead of regular German. Funny how years later all the sudden Plattduetsch became "in", and many people went to extra classes to learn it.
My children who are still small talk mainly English, but at home I talk only Plattduetsch with them.
And there are also people over here in the States who ordered an Escape sight unseen, trusting the fine folks on this forum... Enjoy your wonderful Escape 5.0!!!! Quite a jewel over in Europe!!!!
Gerda

Seef,
Let me be the first to express condolences to your country and fellow mankind about the plane incident. Watching the caravan on tv today made me realize what a beautiful country you live in.
