Manhunt Northern Canada

I’m sure most have heard in the media about the recent homicides that have happened in northern B.C. which have lead up to a Nation wide manhunt. For those who have not please check out the news updates if you plan on travelling in Northern Canada. This is a very bad situation that anybody travelling should be aware of.
Please be safe and let’s hope this ends soon with no more loss of life.

"Northern" in this case is further north than the vast majority of Canadians have ever been... running across these criminals is extraordinarily unlikely. I had to look on a map for the location in Manitoba... I didn't realize that any road went that far up. Even with this pair still on the loose, I would feel a lot safer in some random northern town than in most major cities.

Since the news reports say their vehicle was found burnt out and they assume the pair are attempting to travel on foot, then good luck to them. The elements will likely do them in. The terrain is muskeg and bush, lots of impassable areas account of water, bugs galore, little natural food other than perhaps berries, and it's been reported that polar bears sometimes travel to the area. IF they are found they won't likely be alive.

Those people are travelers, I think I saw a report that authorities determined that they had stolen another vehicle and were possibly miles and miles away. Ok clicks and clicks. The percentages of encountering them is very small. Of course they won’t come down into Iowa where even mothers legally pack heat when going to the grocery store. Might be a spider in the bananas.

Refers to my post #3

People who know the nearby terrain say it will spit out anybody who is unprepared. ^tb

Yup, when Wolf was bush flying in northern Manitoba/Onatrio he often flew in water resource people to remote locations. The second the engine was cut the entire float plane would be 2-3inches thick with black flies, horse flies, moose flies etc. The engine needed to start up again to let the guys jump off ........
