Microsoft "streets and trips" any good replacement?

the one thing I loved about streets and trips was it's large data base,,, i.e. no internet required. I had used it for years but now "Microsoft" ,,,,switched to Bing... which did not impress me. I always used it as a back up when I had no internet.
I actually saw trips and trips being used in a police cruiser..... we were just talking.. I was not in the back seat!
it would be cool to interface a Garmin data base with a maps and streets
w/o internet

Road Tripping

If you have a PC (not available for a Mac, but neither is Streets & Trips) Street Atlas from Delorme is a better trip planning program & is still available - although with Garmin acquiring Delorme last February Garmin purchased Delorme who knows how long it will be. A bit more complex to learn, but allows longer trips & has more functions.

The interface between Garmin & Street Atlas might be a possibility depending what Garmin does with the product. While the Delorme map store in Yarmouth, ME is closing, I hope the world's largest globe will survive. It is an impressive object!

I was just about to start a thread about campground planning software. I use Allstays and Ultimate Campground, but they both depend upon an Internet connection. Does anyone know of camping apps that will allow you to download the map onto an Android tablet, so that you don't need an Internet connection to use it?

I love my 2005 Streets and Trips. I have an up-to-date Tom-Tom and Navfree on my phone but I still like to use S & T on my netbook while travelling. I like the larger screen and being able to zoom out and having a more overall view of my progress. Despite it being a 2005 version I've found that the majority of freeways haven't changed position very much.

an ole favorite, been using for years and I have found it quite accurate in describing the various Campgrounds.
