New Jersey, Delaware, Eastern Pennsylvania

I'm looking for camping ideas in New Jersey or Delaware or Eastern Pennsylvania -- preferably somewhere near kayak rentals. Any ideas?

I don't know it they rent kayaks, but they do have a lake & 22 waterfalls on 7 miles of hiking along a couple of streams at Ricketts Glen State Park in Eastern PA. My favorite state park - some of my photos of the place.

Across the Delaware, near Point Pleasant, PA, there is Tohikan Creek State Park. I think it is in November they release water from Tohikan Lake and... for several days the usually placid Creek becomes a major-major white water kayaking magnet. Don't know if any kayak rentals are possible at the village of Point Pleasant but it's worth a beautiful drive over there to find out.

PS: Kayaks not cheap - my people in the know tell me impulse buyers who sour on the sport often make their kayaks available at bargain rates on Craigs List.

OK I had it wrong... it's Tohickon Creek, and High Rocks State Park, and the Nockamixon Dam is where the water is released, (...or was, some 30 years ago.)

Just south of Frenchtown.

thanks for the ideas --we are so urban where we live in NJ that we sometimes forget that beautiful places are not too far away.
