Unhappy No surprise here. Gas prices are going up.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/money...es/3661261002/

The article does have a link that shows which adjacent states have lower gas prices.
Might be useful for those heading to the Escape event.

Gas and diesel the same price while driving through Illinois yesterday—both at $2.74.9.

I knew it would happen eventually.

Downloaded the Murphy Drive rewards app, gives you points for gallons bought, buying stuff there and a weekly random spin for points. The bottom line is for every 100 points you can claim .10¢ per gallon discount up to a dollar. I don’t buy anything other than gas, but Murphys are at most Walmarts and are usually one of the lower prices to get fuel. Different states limit the amount of gas you can get a discount on, and the one I used it at yesterday limited it to 20 gallons. Fortunately I only bought 19 to fill it up, but I can see where if the pump shut down at 20 and you had to put the hose up and start over to fill it all the way it could be a pain. And don’t forget those credit cards that often give good discounts for gas, I have one I use only for gas that gives 5% off all the time....

Perhaps the Murphy gas is cheaper because it's not listed as one of the "top tier" retailers.

I know about having to put in your credit card more than once. A while ago filling up in ND, five times! First time pump didn't work, moved to another pump then I guess it's limited to $75, so cut out then, card in yet again for another $17. Then tried pump for premium for my lawn mower. Wouldn't work, into the office, he said oh I think we're out of premium, try across the road (same retailer), so finally got all my gas after five attempts which should have been two.

We only buy Chevron 99% of the time . We get better mileage and get 3 cents back on every gallon . Yesterday paid 4.09 a gallon . It went down 10 cents . Yay ! Pat
