North Cascades Highway camping

I've searched the forum for recommended camping spots along the North Cascades Highway, also known as Highway 20, and have been unsuccessful so far. Does anyone have any places they have enjoyed?

We will be traveling south from Sumas and will take Highway 9 to make sure we stop at Everybody's Store as that has been recommended as a great place to stop for a sandwich.

We liked the Pine Near campground in Winthrop. It's right in town, so you can walk to everything, but it's clean, well-run, and quiet at night.

Great! Thanks for that. We will definitely look into it. I've heard that Winthrop is a great town. Anything specific you would recommend seeing?

I should also be a little more specific in my request. Anything in the Marblemount area or before Newhalem? We are looking for a spot to set up for a few days after picking up in Sumas. A place where we can get the interior items in the trailer set up.

I would recommend stopping at QUE CAR BBQ in marblemount. It's the whole in the wall most people look for.

Excellent! We love our BBQ and it should line up for a great dinner spot.

And then there's Colonial Creek Campground on the west side of the summit. The campground is divided by the highway, the side opposite the main entrance being the better of the two. The last time I was there the sites were semi secluded
