On the spot research
Is there anyone out there that has both research apps, All Stay and Ultimate Campgrounds?
I have been debating about purchasing the latter and would like some input, good or bad.
Or is there something else that works at least as well?
Thanks in advance
JR

I have both apps, having purchased the US and Canadian Ultimate Campground. Ninety five percent of the time I use the AllStays app. I have not found the cost (a pittance) of the Ultimate Campground app worth it. The Allstays app feature I like is the listing of more RV parking locations, though I am not a fan of Walmart, I have used them. Cabelas and Cracker Barrel may provide a better environment. All which may be available in AllStays but not the Ultimate Campground
I also like using the map feature of All Stays to locate potential stops. Running a close second and used in conjunction with AllStays is RV Park Reviews. The early app was very buggy but they have done some updates for it so that it works much better. I do all my research on a Windows 10 PC at home or while travelling an Apple iPad and when in the car on an Apple iPhone. Works very well.

I have both apps. Ultimate Campground covers only non-commercial campgrounds such as parks; it does not include commercial campgrounds. Nevertheless I use it more because that's all I stay in.
The Allstays tablet/phone app is no longer supported on Android devicies. I don't know why. So far mine still works. I guess at some point it will stop working.
It is possible to buy the POI data from Ultimate Campground to incorporate into your GPS. They even have the format used by the CoPilot app. That would be ideal-- you wouldn't need an Internet connection to plan your stops. I bought the data but I couldn't get it to work with the version of CoPilot that I have. I was told by CoPilot to upgrade their app first. I'll do so when I get home-- I'm not about to try to upgrade CoPilot while I'm on the road. I need it.

I'm another traveler that has, and uses both. I tend to use Allstays more, but the Ultimate product does a better job of listing the smaller non commercial campgrounds.

I use RV Parky. There is a web site and an app (I have Android). You can plan a trip on it and it will show you places to stay on a map. It shows the distance between stops and maintains a calendar for you. It shows public and private campgrounds, and overnight stops like WalMart and TA. You can also use it to show what's around you on a list or on a map. And it's free. It is ad supported but the ads are not intrusive, just lists the advertisers first on the list of available places near you.

Yes, but it is a one-time purchase. Very well worth it!

More tools
Thanks to everyone for the advice!
We are on the road now, near Daniel Boone national forest. Since we left Wisconsin a few days back we have used 3 different travel help guides, Ultimate Camp Grounds, (both US and Canada), All Stays, and RV Parky. Each has it’s own value, but they all are just another tool in the box. Local knowledge has helped us out numerous times. All you have to do is ask!! Well kinda.... then sort through the chaff to get to the grain. 😉

I agree with the others. If you stay commercial, Allstays. If non commercial, then Ultimate. I usually prefer non-commercial and Ultimate usually comes through for me. I prefer keeping my distance to 300 miles and can almost always find something at the right distance.
