Dickinson sells a low pressure regulator to replace the high pressure regulator that comes standard with the grill. Swapping them out was easy with a crescent wrench and a bit of Teflon tape. The low pressure hose supplied by Escape has a male QC fitting on one end and a female flare fitting on the other. I just connected the hose to the grill side and am leaving it connected until I get home and pick up a flare to QC fitting. Even the cover fits with the hose coiled up on top of the grill. Setting up the grill is simply a matter of using the Quick Connect on the trailer and turning the gas on.

That's a fine stove, Headhunter, but don't get it confused with a grill, which is what I posted pictures of.

Yes I see that, this one would be used with a frying pan or other pots and pans. It will serve double duty with camping and the hunting I do a lot of.

There's also a griddle that can be placed over the burners to create a grill like cook surface.

Off to Twin Falls in the morning, then on to northern Utah to pick up my dad before heading to Bryce. I guess the days of "just the two of us" privacy are soon to be over, but looking forward to camping with dad. Haven't done that since 1975 in our old Aristocrat.

'Past Tents' First Journey

Very warm and sunny today in Heyburn Idaho. Camped on the Snake River again. Nice newer park with modern pull through for 20 dollars. On to Northern Utah tomorrow morning.

Robert, you sure have been finding some nice places to stay on your trip. What source of information are you using to find these campgrounds and RV parks? And enjoy quality time with your father. Loren

On your way there, did you happen to go by, or through, Hell's Canyon? We went there on the inaugural trip with our 19. We spent a week at Wallowa Lake State Park in NE Oregon, and loved exploring the area. Pretty cool looking down on the Snake River from the heights of the canyon walls. This canyon, though not as wide, is deeper than the Grand Canyon.

We would love to go back some time.

BTW, you do know your awning strap will slide right out the end of the roll? That way you don't have do wrap in around the arm like that.

I second the trip to the falls. It's just one of those places you don't see back east. It's also got a view of the canyon Evil Knievl tried to jump.

Thanks Jim. I've been to Hells Canyon before but on this trip it was slightly out of the way. Will definitely head up there again sometime. Yes, I knew that about the strap but this way I know where it is.

Thanks Loren. We use a lot of different sources but mainly we use the big Good Sam 2015 directory (formerly Woodall's, which I preferred) Passport America, the BLM website and campgroundreviews.com. so far its worked out.

And of course forum members recommendations. I'm sorry you spent so much time in the rain in Oregon, truly. But we all know there's a reason Oregon is GREEN

Thanks for the pics and allowing the rest of us to enjoy your trip home.

Safe travels, always.
