--Well, you never know! At least the trailer next to you didn't have a bigger slide out. It might have made for a tight squeeze! And besides, Coco might not have liked that. We have a couple of terriers, too, (Rat and Fox mixes), and that would have resulted in some excitement!

Continued happy travels to y'all. Peace~

Wonderful photos of Kodachrome Basin State Park Robert. They remind me of why I love going to Utah. We have camped on two occasions at Kodachrome and plan to return again in 2016. One of my favourite campgrounds in the American SW.

The tour of Monument Valley Tribal Park was windy, dirty, sandy, bouncy, expensive, and.......amazing. If you're ever here, just plunk down the money and take the tour. You won't forget it.

I take it that means you took one of the tours as opposed to driving the circle yourself? if so, which tour company and if applicable which tour?

We just used Gouldings since we were camping there. Half day tour. Driving yourself would be OK but you don't get to see as much because the tour goes to restricted areas.

Codeman, that'll happen very soon. We'll be at Chisos Basin in Big Bend, then on to Garner State Park -- our favorite place. Mmmm. I can already taste the pancake breakfast at sunrise overlooking the Frio, dancing by the moonlight at the Pavilion, and the Cowboy Poetry.

'Past Tents' First Journey

No photos tonight. We went from Monument Valley to Cortez CO yesterday to spend the night with my Uncle and Aunt. Great home cooked meal and hospitality.

Very interesting drive from Cortez to central NM today. A cold front caused high wind warnings for western NM, and those warnings were well justified. We encountered 60 mph cross winds in some areas between Shiprock and Gallup, and in a couple places had to slow to about 35 mph because of near zero visibility from the dust and sand on the road. Still can't get over how rock solid and stable it is to tow our 19 in these bad conditions. Absolutely no sway and easy towing where many others are all over the road.

Staying at Bar S RV Park in Milan NM tonight. Not particularly scenic but at a good distance for stopping overnight on our way to Texas. Very nice park manager and its a Passport America park so we got a dead level pull through with full hookups for half price. Planning to stay between Las Cruces and El Paso tomorrow night.

In a dumpy rv park in Vado NM tonight before heading to Big Bend tomorrow. For those of you who are fans of the "long trailer" with Lucy and Dezi, this dinosaur parked behind the property reminded me of it.

Reminds me of the trailer in Charley Varrick! That beast would be a gold mine to a restorer.

'Past Tents' First Journey

Change of plans. For reasons I don't care to go into (nothing serious) we are not going to Big Bend but are heading home. We are in a very nice RV park in Ft. Stockton tonight then home tomorrow. Would have liked to extend the trip for a few more days but it's been just wonderful so I ain't complaining.

RVing is going to be a regular part of our lives from now on, and Big Bend will still be there-- along with about a hundred state parks and other great places within easy driving distance. Sheesh! I ain't even home yet and I'm already looking forward to our next adventure!

I'll take first stab at the reason... you ran out of clean socks!

So very glad you've had a great "first" trip. It's been grand right. And thanks so much for sharing the pictures and taking us all along on your travels.

Continued safe travels, always.
