Places to Camp Around Cannon Beach Oregon

Good morning, we are thinking of taking a short side trip from Victoria down to the Cannon Beach, Oregon area prior to heading up to the rally in Osoyoos in June. Does anyone have any suggestions as to good places to camp in the Cannon Beach area?

Regards

Scott

We liked Nehalem Bay in early October '09.
Short run to Cannon Beach or south to Tilamook, Lincoln City.
This is Old Bag on the dunes, looking out over the ocean.

Yep, we're holding a NOG at Nehalem Bay State Park in October. We were there in April 2012 and folks want to go back.

Fort Stevens State Park near Astoria to the north of Cannon Beach is another option.

We stayed at the Good Sam Park there---was quite nice..

An easy walk to the beach(under the highway) where we quite enjoyed the puffins...and all the little shops...

We parked at first in the mainparking lot by the beach in town with our trailer and had no issues...
We actually stayed at that park both ways, to and from Harris Beach park..

If you want the Cannon Beach ambiance, which I recall is wonderful, seems that The RV Resort at Cannon Beach (the Good Sam resort mentioned above?) or nearby Wrights-for-Camping might be good choices. Our most recent venture to Cannon Beach (and not all that recent) was a luxury stop at Stephanie Inn, on the water near Haystack. Previously, in our tent-camping days, we camped a bit south at Oswald West - a quiet and scenic park, carry-in for tents only (now closed to camping).

Tent camping at Oswald West is one of my best memories of camping on the Oregon Coast in the mid 70's. I was quite disappointed on a later trip to find that it was closed to camping. The cove down there was a great place to watch the sun set while on it's way to Mt Fuji.

Hmmm. I wasn't sure the "old bag" actually existed or was just a figment of your imagination. She looks pretty young and pensive in that photo ...

I've met her a few times now, and she sure does make putting up with baglo much easier.
