Friday afternoon and evening and Monday afternoon and evening will be heavy traffic, but Sunday will be lighter than usual. Depends on where you are headed- Friday it will be heading out of the big cities, Monday back home into them.

We've traveled over Presidents Day with only minor traffic problems. Bigger issue might be reserving a campground well in advance.

Just an aside, the correct term is Presidents' Day, as it celebrates TWO presidents, Washington and Lincoln. Since people could never quite understand this, the currently accepted practice is to leave out the apostrophe, and just use "Presidents Day." Plural, not plural possessive.

Nitpick I know, but my minor was English. Way back in 1971. Old fuddy-duddy, I am.

Semantics

I’m certainly not an English major but I do still have my copy of
“Words and Ideas” by Guth. I wish they would have instituted national holidays for both Lincoln and Washington and for a few others. I never really liked to work if I could get the day off with pay. I think having both birthdays in the short month of February, probably cheated us all out of that possibility. Valentine’s Day , renamed Valen- heart-tines Day by my oldest daughter about 40 years ago when she was two ought to be a holiday too. And don’t get me started on the disrespect for Groundhog Day. And don’t get me started on the disrespect for Groundhog Day.

A whole week to exercise, breathe in fresh air, socialize with friends, and perhaps develop some self reliance. Preposterous, they need to be in school, staring at screens, practicing active shooter drills and getting a two block ride from home.
