I grew up in the middle of the tulip operations and I'm very glad that I left the valley before they started the Tulip Festival. I was there last year near the end of the tulips and the traffic was still insane. The flowers are beautiful and the whole world seems to come to see.
Back in about 1995 or so, I owned a 1946 BC-12D Taylorcraft that was hangared in Arlington. I used to fly up to the Tulip fields and look at them from the air. They were wonderful to look at from above, but it didn't take long to figure out there were nearly as many airplane's in the air as car's on the ground! It sure is pretty up there on a sunny day and well woth the visit. Bob.
