I made the mistake of complaining about my mileage at my last Toyota service, so they replaced the air filter ( somewhat dirty they said ) and cleaned the rear brakes ( might be grabbing they said ).
Cost me $125 that I could have spent on gas.

Typical stealership. I always make sure my filters and wiper blades are good before I go in. Of course, I figure I can always just say "thanks for the information" and then take care of it myself or go somewhere else.

I must have a good Ford dealer, cause they said FORD recommends changing the air filter at 30 K if it needs it. Service writer said they looked at it and didn't think it needed it.

I've been on the road trying to follow the weather since October 10th. I left City of Rocks, NM this morning and headed into Arizona. Temperature in Douglas was 78°F when I arrived & it is going down into the 50's tonight. I'm at the Douglas Fairgrounds/golf course in a full hookup site for a week at $11.67 per night. Not an ideal campground, but since Arizona was my goal I decided to relax & vegetate for awhile. I eventually plan to end up in western Arizona for most of the winter. More photos in today's Lakeshore Images Page.

Here is last night's sunset at City of Rocks:

Here's our City of Rocks. Certainly one of the most unusual campgrounds we have ever visited.
Nice sunset.

Good Morning! Here is the scenery at Morro Bay. After a damp foggy night, it looks like another great day is in the offing. Here is the view 5 steps out of my trailer (OK 10) !

Indeed. My space here is right up to the perimeter fence by a gate, and out that gate to the west is the beach and ocean. It is a great spot.

This was my best spot, on the beach in Maine, last summer with great views, sunsets, and food.

If I had a picture to show you this morning, it would be of the Escape sitting behind the gate on the side of the house, not too interesting, except to say I made it home yesterday without incident.

Now for a brake adjustment, a wash, a cleanout, and then?

If the weather holds, who knows… we might be camping on turkey day!

I think that sounds MARVELOUS! If you've never done it before, you may make a new great memory... how cool would that be.
