Great pics Nindy. We've been at the Matagorda rally just up the coast a bit (head home tomorrow), and I recognized most of the birds in your photos are here too. The Texas gulf is truly a birders paradise.

Thank you Nindy

Great , great trip report, very inspiring…Padre Island is on my bucket list. Thank you very much. Did you spot/ photograph any Tundra Peregrine falcons ? A large number of these falcons migrate from far north soon after fledging the nest to spend the winters on Padre Island.

I haven't seen the Escape calendar, but I suspect your second photo of the sunrise would be worthy of it. Fabulous shot!

That last bird is really tough to identify, with that 'gator mouth in the way.

I see you are in the cave with Loren!
Ditto what Cathy says, great pics!

What do you think of the storage caves? I seriously considered leaving ours there from Oct to Jan. rather than haul home from our daughter's at Fort Leavenworth but decided that the price with our lousy exchange rate was not worthwhile. So it's parked at home winterized ready to head to KS then TX, AZ, NM in mid Jan.
