Pet Friendly Motel on Vancouver Island

ETI will be doing some work on The Skylark after the rally. Current plan is they will have the Skylark for a couple of days. Lindy and I thought we would take this opportunity to drive over to Vancouver Island and see some of the things we have missed on previous trips. Lindy wants to see Butchart Gardens (again) and have tea in the big hotel in Victoria.

Since we won't have our trailer, we need to find a motel for one or two nights. But the hotel has to be pet friendly since Murphy-The-Dog will be with us. I was wondering if those of you who are familiar with the area would have any recommendations for us.

Thanks much.

Leon

When we go to Victoria we camp at West Bay Marina and have also had an overnight in one the cabins . They have several cabins and a few floats homes for rent ( as well as a list of private float home rentals ) ,and since there are pets in the RV park/ Marina - would guess them to be pet friendly . It is a nice area - can walk all the way around the bay to The Empress or take a harbour ferry across . The West Bay Marina and RVPark are across the harbour from the Empress. We love that walk , there are restaurant/coffee shops enroute as well .

Hi Leon,
I stayed at the Admiral Inn with my two dogs and had a wonderful time. The pet friendly rooms are located on the ground floor and in the mornings you can have a nice walk along Victoria's inner harbour. It is also about two blocks to the Empress Hotel and the high tea was very special there. You will likely need reservations for the high tea there so google their website. Here is a link to the Admiral Inn site:

Cheers,
Jim
ps The horse drawn carriage tour was sure nice and they are by the parliament buildings next to the Empress Hotel.

Will never forget the Sooke Harbour House Inn. They do take pets; $40 each. While this place is a foody haven you dont have to dine there however they do serve an incredible breakfast in your room.

Check out the Cedarwood Hotel in Sidney by the Sea. Right across the street from the beach.

Oswego Hotel near the Victoria harbour takes pets. When we stayed there they brought up a dog bed big enough for all three of us and bag of dog treats.

Thanks much for the hotel suggestions. We will be making some reservations tomorrow. Looks like Murphy-the-Dog is going to sleep well!
