Alf and Mary Ann,
Hope you're having a good time on your southern sojourn. Nice campsite
shots with green in them. Not much green up here in the tundra except frozen Christmas trees discarded in the alleys in town and tv stations counting their caucus advertising greenbacks.

Sure is shiny.....
Question, why not put the water filter at the source to keep your hose clean also?

But I like the 90 degree connector to take the stress off the trailer connection. Where did you get it if I may ask?

Pretty much any RV dealership, or garden center, will have them.

I use a board to prop up the hose at the connection and take the stain off. Simple and effective.

Have the little 90 degree connector but wish it was brass connection not plastic . Already the cap line broke off so needed to find a replacement or cap can be lost easy . Always had a door over water connectors which keep the sun off on previous RV 's . May change out eventually. Pat

I used to worry about filtering the water before it went into the hose, but almost every time I coil up the hose, one end or the other ends up in the dirt, and i end up wiping it off with the rag I keep in the storage box. So now I put the filter on the trailer side of the hose. So far it seems to work just fine. I try not to think about all the times I drank directly from the garden hose when I was a kid, nor the number of times I have filled a water bottle or two from a tap in a farmer's yard unfiltered and untested.

I have been a bit delinquent in posting to the "out your back window" thread. We have been on the road for almost 3 weeks, and have had some beautiful sites (but terrible internet connectivity). Here a couple of photos from Lake Jennings Regional Park, about 25 miles from San Diego. A very quiet and peaceful campsite, especially considering it is so close to an urban area. We went to Coronado while we were in San Diego. We had been in Joshua Tree National Park, and a nice young lady asked if she could pitch a tent for her boyfriend and parents in our campsite (since we weren't using the flat part of the campsite). I said sure. The next morning we had a chat and the family asked where we were headed. When we mentioned San Diego, they said they owned a restaurant called "Candela's by the Bay", and wrote us a note that got us a free meal. The salmon and the margaritas were excellent.

Malibu Creek State Park
Malibu Creek State Park is another park that close to a major urban area, but you wouldn't know it when you are sitting at your campsite. The park is in the Santa Monica Mountains, less than 25 miles from downtown L.A. There is a 10,000 acre wilderness area that administered by the National Park Service and the California State Parks. This is the view out our back window on Thursday morning. The campground is filling up right now since it is President's day weekend, The campground host says the camp ground is quiet during the week, not so much on the weekend. We used this campground as a base of operations while we explored the Reagan Library, the Getty Institute, Will Rogers State Historical Park and the restaurant on the Malibu Pier. Your State Park camping permit gets you in to any state park during your camping stay. And the campground is a great place to sit and watch the many ground squirrels and mule deer that frequent it.

Good pictures Leon and a great review! Looks like you are having a great time in California. Thanks for the tips on the SP's.
