Great Sand Dunes NP in Colorado. Chipmunks abound, the cats are fascinated.

Are you in the park campground or in the surrounding area? I have noted that the NP campground is usually full.

Site 32 in the park, reserved 6 months ago. Like most national parks now that is just about the only way to get a campsite.

If you get a chance

Do stop, if you can, at the Loveless restaurant, near Nashville, on your Natchez Trace sojourn.

https://www.lovelesscafe.com/

Interesting enough place, certainly a popular one when I was there. My fried chicken was pretty good, as I recall.

The Trace is a sweet ride, and I'm glad you'll be on it, all 444 miles of a drive through a veritable parkland.

bon voyage,

When it’s cold and rainy outside it is great to be dry inside with the furnace going strong!

I just found this thread and got through about 20 pages so far. Motivation!

We had shimmering yellow aspen out our window a few days ago in the Chapman campground on the upper Fryingpan River above Basalt, CO. Our site was on the stream, providing nice background noise.

We drove over to Aspen one day and caught the fall show on Castle Creek Road that leads to the Ashcroft ghost town.
