I like the lady who’s been cutting my hair for the past year. I go at the same time as Rita and walk out without paying. Rita handles that duty. We take two cars and I stop at the big tool store on the way home. Works for me.

After too long of not being able to use our Escape, we finally got out for a few quiet days away from home. We're at Big Hill Pond State Park in Tennessee. There's nobody here but us!

The back window is OK, but the front is excellent. I'm at Hungry Mother State Park in Marion, VA, arriving early for a fiberglass trailer get together.

Although we live in Mississippi, we’ve not been in many of the state’s campgrounds. We like the Choctaw Lake Campground in the north central part of the state but not sure they are open in January or February. Need to check with them. Also have enjoyed Davis Bayou in the Gulf Shores National Seashore on the Gulf Coast. For sure, you would need a reservation there.
Also many great COE campgrounds throughout the state.
FYI, we can occasionally see temperatures in the single digits or teens in January and February in the northern part of the state. I’d suggest planning your stops south of Jackson if you want to avoid cold weather.

Palo Duro Canyon State Park

This wonderful canyon is mostly known to Texans, but it is the second largest canyon in the US. The State Park has multiple campgrounds, great trails, and this last week lots of wild turkey drama between rival flocks. The hens were most interested in the hackberries in the trees outside our trailer. It was too windy for good birdwatching but the dogs thought the turkeys made great television from their window. It was, alas the last trip of the season and we winterized on the way home.

Rivalries

Nothing like rival turkeys when you want to see a lot of posturing and not much wing to wing combat. One of my old friends described the courting displays as “He did the war dance and the whole thing but the girls weren’t interested.” Glad you had a good final outing for the year.

This is a wonderful place to camp but can be a little hairy when a massive thunderstorm rolls in. My wife n I love when that happens so cool to watch all the lightening n listen to the thunder reverberate in the canyon

OK, maybe it doesn't have wheels but it's f.g. and I'm wearing my Escape cap.

And it's got one heck of a back window. The view looking back is at St. John's in the US Virgin Islands while heading up Sir Francis Drake channel in the British Virgin Islands.

Just kidding about the mask. But after 26 hours wearing one getting there I almost feel naked without one.

Second photo is leaving "The Indians" rocks. Protected underwater area and great snorkeling.
