Wait a minute, Ron.

I am sure I told you I work cheap. You mean you guys flew to the Caribbean and you then rented a big sailboat, and have been tooling around the islands all week? And you never even asked me if I would carry your bags for you!

Well Myron, if it'll make you feel any better, a photo may be worth a thousand words but it's not always reality. All our cruising life folks have seen our photos of exotic locations, the clear blue waters, the sun and sand etc. and made "it must be nice" comments. It is but believe it or not it's hard work, day in and day out.
Which is why I'm sitting in Foxys Bar on Joost Van Dyke Island sipping a cool one as the sun goes down thinking, I deserve this.

Made it to Aransas Pass, Corpus Christi was a obstacle course. Overcast today, but warmer than southeast Iowa.

Hey Johnny,
It was 46 here today and melted
A lot of snow. I cleaned up some slush and snow with the New Holland. Also took the Christmas lights off the yews. Snow coming.
Glad to hear you’re doing well. Have a good time and stay safe.

Not a wonderful sunset, but the first time in months I've watched one over water. At Mittry Lake, AZ.

It's a bummer. They've been talking about a need to "Manage the resource" for about three years now, yet this is ridiculous. You have more people vying for less space for no good reason. Was there right after Thanksgiving to see the closed off area to the left when driving in. Been camping there for 10 years and don't understand it except for another overreach by the Feds.

Been camping here for over 40 years. It is a spectacular place but in the last 5 to 10 years or so people have abused it and do not practice good camping etiquette. Pack out what you bring in, stay on established trails ect. ect. many now camp there out of their cars and trucks with out toilets, leaving humane waste around surrounding campsites. On are last outing one larger group seemed to think it was a OHV area for their quads very sad. I am glad to see more resources going to maintain this beautiful place for future generations.

Elk

Not from the Escape, but from the window over our kitchen sink (porch post in foreground), 45 elk moving through yesterday in advance of snow.

Overreach? Or public property management. Your call.
