Until about 12 years ago I had a sailboat in that harbor, in the upper area where Jan was camped. The tsunami damage was just heartbreaking, but it's bounced back remarkably. I spent enough nights on my sailboat that I don't think I'll be camping there, but it is a nice location. During crab and salmon season one can walk down and buy fresh right off the docks, and it's also walking distance to a couple of nice restaurants.

On the way to California... not a bad dinette-window view for an RV "resort" by the freeway (near Eugene, Oregon).

Maiden Voyage

Elk Falls Provincial Park near Campbell River, B.C. First trip in our 19 and everything worked perfectly after dewinterizing.

Not bad! Which resort is it? We may need to make a stop around Eugene this summer. Was it a good stop?

It was the Eugene Premier RV Resort, just north of the city, right off I-5. It was a good stop, for being by the freeway. Very nice folks, very clean facilities. We reserved it a couple of months in advance -- I don't know if that made a difference, but we were put in a pull-through away from the highway.

There's a fellow who runs a tiny food-truck business (Ducky's) parked permanently on-site. Coffee, hot dogs, etc. He covered his start-up costs by selling his Casita, and wants to get another FGRV sometime. Sooz told him it was our first FGRV, and he said "started out top-drawer, then!" Smiles all around.

Also gets two thumbs up from us. Stopped on the way home to empty the tanks. Also pluses, Camping World is just across the highway and there is a truck/trailer wash. They have a big bay and they do all the work. Very reasonable. Called Ace Truck Wash behind the TA truck stop. The RV location is actually Coburg at exit 199.

Love seeing pics of Oregon and Washington state. Everything is so green, in stark contrast to the Southwest. So dry down here from the drought. Beautiful area up there.

Ok, this is why it is so green. Grayland SP on the Washington coast. All would be great if the bathroom vent (the cheap plastic 9 x 9 one) wasn't leaking like a sieve. All of you who have the push up one be thankful!!!

Tim and Julie, hope it's just leaking into the shower pan. One of the big pluses of having a full wet bath. Right now, focusing on the wet part. Enjoy the trip, rain and all... make memories!

Doran Regional Park, Bodega Bay, California

Windier that almost everyone around here wants it to be. Maybe 30 knots steady, with higher gusts. None of the campers (us included) are out around the campfire. But these other people... they're liking it. These pix taken yesterday... today the water is solid whitecaps, with one lone windsurfer and zero kiteboarders. Indoor cooking tonight!

Glad to see your enjoying Bodega Bay despite the wind. If it's any consolation it's unusually windy here too, so you would have dealt with it here too, had you stayed!

Please refrain from using that word, or similar 4 letter words like s(now) or w(ork). Some of us have gotten a little sensitive and them quite offensive.

Some four letter words are OK, that might be one of them, another would be B(eer).
