Love the view, and it will still be there for morning coffee!
Also for the old school/comfy handlebars!

After a 325 mile day we are still in MT. for another two nights. Tomorrow we will investigate the Battle of the Little Big Horn and Custer's last stand. This is our view tonight from 7th Ranch RV Park. This park is still new and is a great place to stay. Josie and I stayed here one night on our way up to Osoyoos Escape Rally in May of this year an again as we head towards Niagara Wine Fest in mid September .

The next time I see you remind me to tell you about the famous Budweiser painting of the last stand.
If you've not studied this battle and visited this site, put it on your bucket list.
In the area is also Devils tower to the east and a very good dinosaur museum in Ekalaka Montana in Clark county. And if you stop a Broadus Montana, you can meet Craig OGorman who is from Iowa and is considered one of the finest coyote trappers in the world. If the Bairs restaurant is still open in Hardin they used to have a great breakfast menu. The camping at the Bighorn National Recreation area SW of Crow Agency NOT GOOD. Don't ever go through Sheridan Wyoming without visiting King Ropes, best western museum anywhere. free. And next door is Dans Western wear. Pick up a Resistol or Stetson hat. Been visiting this area since 69. Can't get enough.

Thanks, Dave. Battlefield tomorrow. As for the rest....may just have to make a return visit. Not such a bad thought since I think the area is marvelous.

I have been thru Spearfish where they have the built in irrigation ditches with running water through your front yards and stayed in Lead, toured the Homestake mine and participated in the trial in Deadwood, a lot of cool little towns. Loved riding my Harley through the Badlands at night, like being on the moon.

Palo Duro Canyon SP

Well since I started this thread a couple of years ago I thought I should add to it 😀 . We are at Palo Duro Canyon SP, TX, perhaps in one of the nicest spots here. Heading to Colorado and Utah next.

You are going to have to cut back on the stickers, or you won't be able to see out your back window.

Nice view!

Dave....the battlefield was magnificent. We listened to the Ranger tell the story and then took the tour bus narrated by a local Crow Indian (and member of the Real Bird family that does the reenactments every year down by the river).

The National Cemetery was impressive as well.

I think we both came away from the park with a whole different understanding of the battle itself as well as what led up to it and resulted afterward. It was fascinating.

Josie

PS....I cannot get enough of the big Montana skies....day or night. Looking forward to a return trip. Attached is a sunset picture taken over the Deep Ravine portion of the Park.

Steve, you don't like stickers, do you?

We were in 83, I think. Great spot, too.

Josie,
While I've stopped at the battlefield several times, most memorable was in 1997 with about 15 Boy Scouts, we also visited Wounded Knee, several museums, camped at Devils Tower and toured Fort Meade north of Sturgis, great museum and home of the Seventh. Rifling in some of the old cannons was still so sharp, one kid sliced his hand sticking it down the barrel. Boys will be boys. So glad you enjoyed it, historical perspective is something all Americans and Canadians need to embrace.
