Hi Steve
Glad to hear you are enjoying yet another great county park in Iowa. My Dad was raised near Guernsey Iowa also in Poweshiek County. I usually stop at mile marker 201 truck stop.where highway 21 goes south down to Deep River and What Cheer when I hunt deer at Barnes City. We live about 60 miles NE of your location. The bright object just east of the moon tonight is Saturn. If you've got a telescope or good binoculars you should be able to see the rings. Good luck on your trip East, glad you've discovered another diamond in the Corn Belt.
All the best

Forgot to mention, there is an abundance of Osage Orange trees in that area. The large green fruit is falling now. They are collected and used to keep spiders out of closets and houses in general in the fall. Might work to keep clowns away too if you put them around your camper especially if they step on one, fall and crack their head. Maclura pomifera for the botanists.

Dave, Thank-You so much! We have been watching that large bright object in the sky, but didn't know what it was. Saturn! I'll be darned. Beautiful here, have the park virtually to ourselves. I gotta say, The Canada Geese are active tonight. We watched hundreds land and collect on the lake. They have been active and noisy, but couldn't be a more pleasant sound to sip a nightcap.
Thanks for the tip on the oranges Dave. We'll keep our eyes peeled tomorrow. Got to keep the goblins away!

Cheers

Assateague State Park

We were visited this morning by a small band of horses. The male couldn't take his eyes off Mis-Adventue. He knows a quality trailer when he sees one.

I follow Technomadia on Instagram and that is their bus in the background of your picture. They posted the same scene this morning on their Instagram page. Too funny!

And another

The horses have been hanging around Mis-Adventure and the neighbors tents for the last two hours. And one walked right by our door for a closer look. Skye Deva dog sat up to get a better and then layed right back down not impressed with them being so close.Click image for larger version

Debbie spent last week visiting my sister in New Hampshire and enjoying the fall colors of Vermont's Green Mountains and the White Mountains of N.H.. What a site! Today, we find ourselves in Promised Land S.P., Pennsylvania, just outside Greentown. We're enjoying our coffee and this beautiful view

Thanks Jim! This is a very nice park. Wish we had more time to explore. The leaves are falling like snow flakes, and the weather is shirt sleeve mild. We'll enjoy it for a few more hours, then head down to Harrisburg to visit Debbie's 90 year-old Aunt for a few days. This is our first experience with the fall colors and will enjoy the continued change as we head back west. It's like we're towing the change of seasons with us!

Loving the View!

We just love the great views out the back of our 21', especially when you are somewhere with a wide open panorama.

Jordan River

Jordan River is located on the SW side on the lower end of Vancouver Island. This campground is run by the Capitol Regional District (Victoria) and is not very big. Ten sites along the row in the picture and a few more scattered among some trees (Tenting Only), then a couple along the River Estuary for an RV.

Very popular in the summer but quieter in the shoulder seasons. Across Juan de Fuca Strait is Washington State and the Olympic Peninsula. Wishing we had more time stay on this trip...

Trailer has performed flawlessly since we picked it up Oct. 7th. Kudos to ETI for all their good work.

Seacliff S.P. CA.

Deb and I took our younger daughter and our youngest granddaughter to the coast on Friday. We enjoyed beautiful weather and a beautiful sunset. Caught this view out our back window:
