Good one rbryan4, it is Lake Louise. Here's another photo further up the valley behind Lake Louise of an avalanche off of Mt Lefroy.

Just amazing. You can't beat the Canadian Rockies for scenery.

I was told that Lake Louise has that 2 color water, real cold is green up by the ice and then as it warms it changes color.

Yes taken up in the hills around Osoyoos, where the astronomer lives. A group of us took his house tour one year.

I thought it was caused by Rock Flour -- the very fine rock dust ground up by glaciers. The sunlight hits it and refracts the light into an emerald or turquoise color. No?

Yes, there is a gorgeous turquoise color at Lake Louise but that color is seen all over a big region up there.

Yes and as the dust settles further away from the glacier due to the warming, the color changes...either way, it is very pretty.
