Question where will we pee Dec 25th: Forks WA to Port Townsend

Ok yes this is an odd question to ask here, but my recollection is that the road from Forks WA to Port Townsend doesn't have many facilities on it, and Dec 25th anything would be closed, i would assume.... maybe even gas stations might be closed.....

For those that know the area.... it seems as if our schedule puts us driving and exploring the area Dec 25th - between Forks WA to Port Townsend.

Yes one can find a private area to squat, in case of emergency.....
just looking for any open (Dec 25th) public restrooms.

No we wont have our Escape by then.

Thanks for any info.

John

I'm not going to be any help, but I can tell you that I found out MORE stores, gas stations and restaurants were closed on Thanksgiving Day than on Christmas Day in Portland, OR. Maybe because one is considered a religious holiday and the other is not.

Good luck!

If bears can do it....

The city of Port Angeles is on that road. Something will be open.

I rarely go that way but the last time I did was with friends in 1980. My friend was pregnant (about 5 months along, I believe, maybe 6) and had to stop to pee many, many times. Too bad I don't remember where!

Suggest you bring along a Ball jar just in case .... perhaps that is how they were named.

I'm not sure if I should take this forum seriously. Are you possibly a teenage girl with enough money to buy an Escape?

There should be campground(s), and road side visitor center-ish things along that route. (national park visitor center at Port Angeles, the road side totem display thing by Sequim for example) Some should have restroom facilities if not port-a-potty.. those places usually dont observe holiday schedules...

Hello,

There will be plenty of options in Port Angeles. There is a McDonald's, Wendy's, Walmart Supercenter, Safeway all right on highway 101. Once you get to Pt. Townsend you will have several options as well. If you are feeling like a nice detour, head out to Dungeness County Park and take a stroll out onto Dungeness Spit. There are facilities in the park at the trailhead. It is a pleasant walk if not raining and only 15 minutes off 101.

I live an hour from Pt. Townsend in Bremerton. We go to the Olympic Peninsula several times a year.

'tis something most of us have been able to figure out many, many times in the past. Strange forum topic, but it one is free to post what they want.

My memory of the area is that it is fairly unpopulated

And a local recently told me that mostly everything that was anywhere near Forks and the area would be closed Dec 25

Thus the post.

Thanks to everyone above who had helpful info. Much appreciated.
