21' LEDs
Are the 21' LED bulbs wedge-shaped? Does anyone know the particulars such as lumens? Same pancakes as on a 19'? Anyone think they are insufficient for reading at the dinette?

The LED bulbs I purchased, when I swapped out all my stock bulbs, were wedge shaped so I would guess they are the same in a 21'.

Our 21 LEDs were so bright we used gel filters to tone them down a bit....

They're the same lights as in the 19. The only ones that don't use the flat LEDs (pancake) are the captains lights. Oh, and the little 4 sided wedge LED we put in the range hood when the regular bulb burned out within a week. You'll want to have one of those when the range bulb goes out -- and it will.

I was not sure about them also being wedges in the 21' because so many things have changed. I figured the Captain's lights are different. What are they?
I understand the stove and license plate are 194s which I assume are smaller than the ones for the pancakes. Thanks.

I'm not sure since I've never pulled one out, but I think they're MR 16.

Gel filters are used with stage lights such as for concerts. Very cheap and tolerate the high heats of bulbs, available in many colors. You might want to try some baking (parchment) paper and see if that works for you.

We bought a four sided wedgie at Camping World and most of the light got lost up in the hood. Various flat panels put more light on the stove. Some good alternatives in this thread:

If you are happy with the color, but want to soften or diffuse the light, they sell frosts or diffusion material that spreads out the source, producing softer shadows without changing the color. Stop at a local theatrical supplier & ask for a swatch book - a sample book of hundreds of colors.

Your correct about length. Even our four side was pushing the far end of the mounting area. That's what's nice about something with a pigtail. It allows the bulb to be relocated where it needs to be. Anything is way better than original. We kept leaving it on because it was so dim. Made a good nightlight.

Thanks for the info on gel filters! I'll try parchment paper and look into diffusion material.

For those who find their double fixtures too bright, I saw where someone took out both bulbs and replaced with only one. Or you can take out one of the two you have.

Escape is telling us that the fixtures are sealed units --- so they can't tell us what the LED bulbs are. You can't replace the bulbs??

They are supplied to Escape as a packaged unit (bulb already installed), but you can indeed pop the lens cover off, remove the set screw and pull the bulb out. They aren't going to do that.

And as Robert has said -because 2 of our lights had to remove lens remove little screw pull out bulb then close the little brass tabs a little more together because those bulbs keep flickering then reinstall everything in reverse . Lights stopped flickering they are led's . Pat
