21' taller coat closet

Is there anyone who has no microwave or has the smaller refrigerator with microwave above it, who had the coat closet made taller in the 21'? Other models have a tall closet but the 21' closet is short. If there is no microwave above the closet, that area can be expanded.

I believe the microwave is there because the larger fridge is standard on the 21. ETI will probably eliminate the upper cabinet & microwave, and expand the closet on request when the unit is built.

As far as I know, the coat closet does not change by not ordering the microwave. They just put a door on the front of the microwave enclosure for extra storage. You can always ask for an alternative layout though.

Yes, don't see why that cannot rather easily be done. Was just wondering if someone had.

Closet? Pantry? As far as I know, they're both the same size in the 21'. It's owner usage that determine the "name." You want both? You get two different cupboard doors, unless ETI combines them into one as an option. The 21' owners I know, appreciate that upper cupboard for "paper products," or maybe a wine sellar

I'm curious to what you want to do with that space.

I don't drink wine, I'm a beer drinker and the cupboards (both sides of the axle hold a case!) Two six packs on a side (and I like room temperature beer!)

The 19' has a coat closet, if you look at the photos, that is tall with a tall mirror on it. Our jackets or shirts fit well hanging up. The 21' has no such tall closet as seen in the photos of closet below the microwave. Much shorter and will not take jackets or shirts.

No, those items will fit. Check with 21' owners.

The big difference I've seen between the 21' and the 5.0TA... is 5.0TA get BOTH.. we get the "pantry," and also get a hanging closet which is between the bathroom and the loft. 21' owners get a cupboard with drawer(s).

Notice this pics.

You are looking at the low drawers beside the closet, not the area I am referring to in a 21'. Mirrored next to refrigerator in a 19' and obviously much shorter in a 21'. The 19' closet would be where the microwave and closet below (and I guess area above also) is in a 21'. In our 19' the microwave is above the refrigerator so the closet is tall. Photo of 19' tall mirrored closet is on ETI.

He's just saying the closet in the 21 is not as tall as the 19.

It's because on the 21' it has a bigger refrig and the microwave is above the closet. But on the 19' the micro is above the refirg.

Does the OP want a smaller frig than standard build?

A person could have a smaller fridge or no microwave.

Just from eyeballing the two photos below, the closet on the 19 sure does look taller.

It should. No micro above the closet on the 19'.. It's above the smaller refer on the 19', but it is above the closet/pantry on the 21'.. which also gets the bigger frig in the standard build.

So.. it's all about frig size!

Say... ahhhh.

As tall as the mirrored closet looks, it just barely fits hanging jackets or shirts. Which means there is no such place in the 21'. A lot of 19' owners had changed that area to shelves. What we want to know is where do they and the 21' owners put jackets? Plus that hanging closet takes a bunch more stuff in it besides jackets at the back. We hang some shirts, too. A very handy closet.

Those drawers in the 21' look very nice and I know they are so handy. I hardly think anyone would want to replace those. Some have added shelves above. That makes a hanging closet difficult to come up with.

It's too bad the 5.0 refrigerator is discontinued because that means a much bigger one in the 21' or a smaller one in the 19' or 21'. The 5.0 is a good size.

Soon I will have the really bigger refer along with my taller closet! The old microwave will be taken in the TV if wanted.

I am not sure of the exact dimensions in the 21 or the 19 (our trailer has gone to winter storage--sniff). But we are able to hang shirts, jackets, etc in the 21 closet. It is a little tight, especially since we found that the closet floor is just the right size to hold our 24" tv while driving.

All that said, we had an awful lot of space in the refrigerator for just the two of us. Maybe it is because we were so used to the 3 cubic foot fridge in the 17. If I had to do it over again, I would be awfully tempted to see if I could order a smaller fridge, have the microwave over the fridge, and get a taller closet. Then, if I were really enterprising, I would order some sort of a divider from Charlie that would go over the TV (which lays face down on a mat on the closet floor), which would separate the coats from the TV, so I could get it out easily. But we didn't think of that, and we are happy to live with things as they are.
