Another 17B question

Thank you to all who responded to my query re bed size. I have another question.

Does the 17B have access from outside to the storage area under the bed?

(We are planning to visit the Chillowick factory soon, but haven't made it yet, I know a lot ofmy questions will be answered then)

Thank you

You can order an access door.

You definitely want the access door if you might keep the rear dinette made up as a full time bed.

I don't have an access door from outside. You would only have one on the passenger side as the driver side has water heater and electric panel, cord storage. Question is, will the hatch clear the awning arm?
I keep stuff I rarely use under the seat and use these boxes from Lordco under the table portion for stuff I use a lot. Four of them fit perfectly under the table without being obstructed by the post receiver and they collapse to whatever height you need.
If only they embossed the name of the product somewhere on the box so I could pass it on.

I do believe you've got it!!
They are perfectly proportioned so that four fit under the table in the 17B.

Sandra,

Is yours at the rear, passenger side? Is it large enough to access all of the underseat area?
Mine is on the front of the trailer with access under the front passenger dinette seat.

Here's the access door on my 17B, clears the awning arm.

Yes, and yes. I would have liked it a bit bigger and I think Jim did that to his (if I remember correctly). I also had them put one on each side in the front (under the rock guards). I knew I was going to keep the large dinette as a bed (permanently for me), but I did have them put an access door inside the rear passenger side as well. Although I have rarely used it.
