I say they are skipping the 23' and going right to the 25'.

For those dreaming of an Escape 23', I'll note that a FiberglassRV member sectioned (laterally) and stretched two trailers:I'm not suggesting that this is worthwhile... just possible. It's even possible to choose body width by choosing the starting model, stretching more if starting with a shorter model.

I am dreaming of an Escape 23 Brian, but only if Reace builds it, and only if the bed isn't right in front of you as you enter. Trailer construction is not for me.

Jim, I think I recall, back when you made the decision to go back to the 19', you mentioned something along the line that the 21' had too much storage space that you filled with stuff you never used, and that you were tired of hauling so much stuff (and associated weight) around, and that the more limited storage space on the 19' would help you reduce that. So, do you find yourself carrying less stuff (and carrying less weight) now that you're back in the 19'? And if so, might that factor into any changes in fuel efficiency, too?

I have definitely shed some weight, I used to carry wooden table and chairs, switched to aluminum, ditched my cast iron cookware, only 1 television, and less tools and clothes. Maybe 2-300# lbs loss? I still need to get weighed.

If the 21 had the same floor plan as the 19 but with the addition of a 2 ft low cabinet between the washroom and dinette on the drivers side and more counter space on the passenger side...we would have popped for that.

As would we. We like the floor plan of the 19 but having additional counter and storage space a slightly bigger wetbath and a wider closet and more drawers underneath the closet would have sealed the deal for a 19 based 21.
Since the 19 came the closest for being what we like we purchased it. And are safe as long as Escape does not decided to make the existing 19 a into a 21QB. If they do we might have to spend more of my daughters inheritance.

This has been said many a time before, and if Escape actually did it, I would have considered it over the 5.0TA. I bet Escape would see the sales of the 19 drop a fair bit with many folks opting for the slightly longer trailer.

All your reasoning is good, except I like the smaller bath in the 19 and 5.0TA, as I know that space is going to better use elsewhere. :

True, but they would probably stop making the 19 similarly to the classic 5.0. Then they may redesign the 17 on a 19 chassis with 2 beds or dinettes. then they could bring back the 15 on a 17 chassis!!!!

Our 19 clears the top of our garage door by about 1/8 of an inch. I think the 21 is only an inch taller, but it's one inch to much for us. It probably wouldn't be a problem for most folks but it made our decision easy.

Our door opening is dead on 9 feet with a flat approach. It's as high as we could go without major structural changes. I should clarify that it's the air conditioner that make it close, the 21 without air conditioning would fit.

Around here most doors are 7-8', so a 9' door would be hard to find.

True. You kind of have to have it purpose built, and modification is difficult. The RV garage we are building along with our new home will have 10 foot doors.

While not the case with all overhead doors, such as in fancy ones, you can get them in 1' increments in width (up to about 21') and 6" increments in height.

Most of the homes in my neighborhood were built pre WWII when cars were smaller, my doors are 7' tall and wide, I have to retract my truck mirrors entering. A post war home may have a 8' door standard but anything bigger would have to be custom built, like rbryan4 mentions.

Yes, the doors I spoke of are not for existing openings, just saying what can be designed for.
