Does anyone have a close enough photo of the opening kitchen window on the 19' that it can be seen well, please?

Thank you, jamman. I did not actually mean that close as I want to get a good idea of the size in relation to the trailer. The photos I have seen, cannot tell if opening even though they are supposed to be. Are the awning windows on the 19' and 15' the same size? And the ones used on the 17' maybe at dinette also?

Thank you, Robert. See, it is hard to even tell that it is an awning. I can just make out that the division is above the half-way mark and seems to have a screen from Linda's. The A/Cs have changed. I knew that antenna is taller and we are not getting one. If I knew more about all of that stuff, we might, but can't learn everything. We have been doing this build sheet plenty and some things just have to be dropped. Think we have more than enough to go camping!

Yep, it has a screen, and when its fully open the bottom tilts out about 5 inches from the frame. It's our favorite window in the trailer, and its always open unless its a cold night (furnace and exhaust maxx fan) or a hot day (ac).

So the kitchen window tilts out? I didn't know this. We opted not to have an opened window for a better view. Now I'm disappointed we didn't request an open kitchen window on the final build sheet. Oh well, I'm know we will be thrilled with the final product as we can open other windows.

Just email a change request to ETI or give them a call. Your build won't start until 4-5 weeks before the scheduled delivery date. I think we had a dozen changes to our build sheet after the first one went in.............

As Charlie says, just give them a call. Since they haven't started the build they will probably change it to an opening window no problem. The view is slightly reduced but the window is small so the view would have been restricted anyway. The advantage of having the awning style window is that on a rainy night when all the other windows are closed, this one can remain open - and with the Maxx Fan set to exhaust, you draw in fresh air through the kitchen window. On a cold night when there will be more condensation in the trailer, you can crack it slightly open and set the Maxx Fan to exhaust on the lowest speed. This eliminated condensation for us. We use it almost constantly. It also is a great way to remove cooking odors from the trailer. For us, its all about airflow.

I thought when we toured a 19' trailer, the window was a slider. Do we need to specifically request an awning window?

I just requested opening window. I was happy to see it was an awning type window.

Thank you all! I love the awning type window--and we have requested a modification to our "final" sheet! We have learned so much from this forum and thought our trailer couldn't possibly get any better.

Now we are planning our trip into Canada and becoming familiar with weather patterns throughout the continent!

I didn't know the window did this either and I've toured 4 of the trailers already (different sizes). Good to know.

Yep, I've learned a lot from this forum as well, for which I'm very thankful.

If you haven't thought about this already, you might want to find out what you need before you take it back into Canada, unless they let you take possession at the factory itself. If so, you might have to pay Canadian taxes and then get a refund later. I know, for US customers, they bring it across to Sumas, which is just across the border in Washington.

I've seen posts by folks that got their license plate ahead of time. You might need that plate if you go back into Canada. I don't know for sure, but trying to think about any problems you might have. I'd check with ETI on that as well as your local DMV.

Although I might be reading your comments incorrectly and you're talking about when you pick it up and head back to CA, via the US and not parts of Canada.

Good luck and have fun!

Per other posts, I think we will be fine traveling back into Canada. My husband is working the DMV issue and he thinks it isn't a biggie.

We were hoping for an extensive travel through the Canadian Rockies, but with an October pick up, I'm not sure we want to travel that route in the Fall. We recently retired and there is so much to see. I also have an aunt, uncle and cousins in British Columbia so we will take this opportunity to visit them again! We are not in a hurry to get home and plan to stay near Chilliwack as we become familiar with our trailer. Can't wait!

You can re-enter Canada with a temporary plate as well. You'll need at least that to tow it anywhere.

Dealing with the Kansas DMV can be a huge issue. Speaking from experience. Loren

Apparently, 15's, 17's and 19's have awning windows at kitchen or dinette. Can't usually see that in the photos, though. Yes, it helps a great deal to read the forum.

You signed your build sheet months early? We are just signing ours when due and no doubt we will want to make changes and be stuck with the fee. Can't ask all of the questions we have.
