So true!
But seriously, with the microwave there, I love that little cupboard. Store my baking pans and placemats there. Dave put a spring hinge to keep it open.

"I went to that last Bluebonnet Casita rally and had the opportunity to see three 21' classics. Next month I am going to the Javelina rally and Marv will be there with his new 21' so I will be able to walk through a "2017" model."
Tom, we will be there. I agree the language is confusing with the cabinets. I don't see anything different except for a cabinet we wanted over the drawers. It all looks the same to me (new vs old).

Happy news!
Yay, just got some good news from ETI regarding that cabinet. I had written to them, expressing my disappointment over losing it. Now I don't have to find a new home for those special hinges!
Okay, I think I plugged in enough emoticons there! (sorry!)
Here's what she had to say:
" I completely understand your frustration with the cabinet design change in the 21’ (deleting the small cabinet above the microwave). I have spoken with Reace and as there are only a few customers who were not happy with the change we would be happy to accommodate your trailer and build it with the previous configuration."

Congrats, Laura. And kudos to ETI for responding to your concern. That goofy narrow cabinet is one of the many things I like about our Escape21!

Charlie, did you make that spice cabinet? Can I buy one? If not, can you tell me where you bought it?
BTW Loving my bathroom shelves! They keep my bathroom nice and tidy.

Glad you like the shelves! I didn't install a spice cabinet as we don't cook much inside. Do a Google search for this phrase (with the quotes) and you'll see a lot of places to buy one:
"under cabinet" spice rack

Remember, spices are meant to be kept in a cool dark place.

Thanks for working with ETI on this. I just switched my order from a 19 to a 21 and certainly see many uses for storage space above the Microwave (which I probably won't order).
Now I just need to make to ask for it .. even If I have to pay for it!!

Note in the photos that the door under the frig opens sideways instead of flipping down. I don't know if the owner asked for this or if this is standard. I've emailed to find out about that, as well as if any of the cabinets changed in size. I'll post what I find out.
So, anyone need a set of hinges for that small cabinet that will enable the door to stay open? I already purchased them, but it looks like I won't need them now. Heck if I remember what I paid for 'em (not much).

That's strange because the door on my 17A opens sideways like that, not down. Was that only on the 21 foot?

I didn't have to pay any extra for it. This is what it says on our build sheet:
""OLD STYLE" CABINET CONFIGURATION WITH SMALL CABINET ABOVE MICROWAVE"
So, just ask for that and cut and paste the above in to an email to them.
I'm thrilled they were willing to do that.

Other folks with a 21' said theirs opened sideways, so maybe they only did it on a few. Or it was a mistake on the demo model and not done on others. who knows.
