No 12V

ETI says they cannot install an after market 12V drop for me. Is there another way to do this?

What's an "aftermarket" 12 volt drop?

I was going to ask the same thing.

Escape will install 12V wiring in any cabinet you specify, but they don't install the accessory you run from the drop (assuming you meant aftermarket 12V plug and not 12v drop). It's a simple matter of using a 12V plug with 2 wires coming off of it. They're available at any Radio Shack. Black to black, red to red. Done. If you're completely uncomfortable about making the connections, I should think a neighbor or friend could do it for you in 5 minutes.

Maybe this crude drawing I did on a thread about the wilson sleek will help you visualize what I'm saying:

The cell phone power I used was a cigarette lighter socket spliced to the 12V wiring drop ETI installed. I got one with a mounting bracket so I could fasten the socket to the framing inside the cabinet and have nothing show on the outside of the cabinet.

Drop?

I asked for a 12V drop in the cabinet. Is that the wrong thing to ask for? Should I have just asked for a plug in the cabinet?

You need a power source - that's the "drop" in the cabinet. Escape installs those routinely. What we're talking about is the thing you connect to the drop. The signal boosters use a 12V plug. The plug comes with the booster. Get a 12V socket (cigarette lighter type). Get one with the wires coming off the back of it. Those wires connect to the 12V drop you had Escape install in the cabinet. Easy.

ETI says "no"

I bought the model so ETI said they will not install a 12V drop. It would be an aftermarket item and I am willing to pay the extra$ but they said no??

To try and clarify further:

The booster comes with a 12V plug.
That plug must connect to a socket.
Get a socket, and connect it to the drop.
Here's a link for a suitable socket on ETrailer. Even has a mounting bracket for inside the cabinet.
