Comparing 2010 19 vs. New

There is a 2010 19 ft available, and this is what I have read, regarding differences:
1. Has the airplane door
2. Awning arms
3. Blue carpet, which I like
4. Don't know abt the windows...frameless? Can't tell from the pic.
5. Weighs less, correct?
6. And maybe not as square?
7. This 19 has 14 inch wheels. Are 15's standard now?
8. Of course the price...abt $10,000 ☺️
9. Do 2010's have the 4 inch frame?

Anything else I should know?

I believe it has the 3" frame and there may have been a recall on them. Analog thermostat for furnace and smaller holding tanks. Also the battery placement maybe different.

It's the "classic" 1st generation, similar to ours. Escape has never stood still however, so each year they kept improving certain things on the trailer.

The aircraft style door is made of fiberglass with wood reinforcement inside. Ours is fine, but I wish it would seal a bit better.

The awning arms you refer to are part of the Carefree Fiesta manual awning. We love ours and use it all the time. It's very sturdy as well.

Standard floor was sheet vinyl. They apparently added carpet.

It does weigh a bit less than the new 2nd generation 19. My personal opinion is that if you have to worry about that weight difference, you've chosen the wrong tow vehicle.

As for "less square", the 1st and second generation models are almost the same, except that the driver and passenger side on the 2nd gen are vertical instead of tapered. This allows for a flat conventional RV door.

15" wheels are standard now on all Escapes.

The 2010 Escape 19 had a 3" frame. You might want to check that the frame repair/reinforcement (both recalls) was done on this trailer.

Only the new body style or second generation trailers - built starting in 2016 - optionally have the "frameless" windows.

The current 19' has the battery (or batteries) on the tongue immediately in front of the body (and in the optional tongue-mounted front storage box if so equipped). An earlier configuration of the 19' placed the battery inside, under the curb-side dinette seat... but I have no idea when that change occurred.

-Airplane door is unique. Like the look. Escape has a better door seal that can be retrofitted if you have an issue. I also removed the door and filled ours with small foam bean bag balls through the door latch area. Makes the door shut better and also improves it for noise and insulation.

-The Carefree Fiesta awning is bomb proof. Great manual awning. If you tilt it you donít need to bring it in during rain, only really high winds.

-Windows are framed sliders. Thermal or non-thermal were available. We like them.

-14Ē wheels were standard, but Escape has told me 15Ē wheels will fit without issue

-2010ís have the 3Ē frame. We havenít had any issues. First reinforcement was done when we bought the trailer. We havenít done the second recall yet. Very few trailers have had issues according to the information available.

-Only the early 19ís (2009) had the batteries in the pass side dinette. Our 2010 had them on the tongue, but I did a mini-split heat pump so mine were moved inside under the seat to accommodate the condenser on the front.

-Front storage box was not available until late 2010. If the trailer doesnít have one it can be retrofitted with one by Escape. They wonít ship them.

Tanks capacities are 20 gal fresh, 26 gal gray, 19 gal black

This is an old post of mine with a link to the 2010 brochure:

I like our Fiamma awning and have no problem with a manual.
Drive a 1500 Silverado with max tow package, should have no problem towing.
I have sliders on my Casita...like them fine.
One of the very Escapes I've seen with carpet. I ordered my Casita with carpet, and prefer it.
Must be destiny☺️ except I'm 3000 miles away and won't be in Florida until October, where this trailer is located.
It will be long gone by then, but wanted to ask anyway.
Thanks for the details, it may help on a future purchase.

With a healthy deposit maybe the seller would hold the trailer for you until October.
