Hi Robert - Since you switched the dinette and the bed around (I'm assuming), how do you find the size of the new bed? From the dimensions on the Escape pages, it looks like making the front dinette your bed reduces the width of the bed to about 14" narrower than the double bed on the 21' (i.e., 40"x80" vs. 54"x80").
LOL.. It can be even smaller then that. I mentioned "u-shaped seating" deliberately.

I don't have a rear table (and it's associated hardware) installed. Just a semi permanent lounge that I can make up into a queen bed when extra sleeping accommodation is required.

Sleeping single here so I tend to sleep across the back in 26" bunk mode when not running AC/Heating Strip fan overnight.

When it gets hot/cold enough outside to have to run the polar cub fan continuously I move to the generously sized (for one :-) front dinette area.

Laying your head towards the drivers side tucks it well in behind the bathroom end wall which in-turn mitigates the constant fan noise enough to get both a good nights sleep and stay cool/warm at the same time.

As a single traveler, I also find the 28" bed that I have in my 15A (forward dinette) adequate as sleeping quarters. Thus, I don't have the issue of making up a bed nightly.

That's the way to handle it Jim.. I may end up modifying my hatch covers myself someday if it gets to bugging me but right now I'm a VERY satisfied camper in my Escape 19.

Note: you will have to flip up your table extensions when you just want to have a quick peak (with cushions in place) in the side hatches because the full length seat cushions will still foul on the lowered/parked tables which extend out from the walls a couple of inches.

For some reason the specifications for the 19' shows 44x80 for the dinette bed, yet the schematic reflects 40x80, not sure which is correct.

You're right ... Four inches can make a big difference in many cases.
