Cushion cover material?
I really like the leather in my new tow vehicle and thought that the Escape cushions, in the U shaped dinette might be nice covered in fake leather (for lack of a better name). I was looking at the Sailrite site and thought that Nagahide might be a good alternative to the traditional fabric. What are people experiences and pros/cons of using Nagahide?

When it's hot, I sure hate sitting on anything vinyl. I either sweat or get stuck. When it's cold, the vinyl is really cold.

That’s my experience too. Leather is not much better. I voiced that opinion a few years ago, then ended up being talked into a leather recliner. They’d insisted that new manufacturing processes made a big difference. So I bought it.

In order to help with Search, it's spelled Naugahyde: an artificial material designed to resemble leather, made from fabric coated with rubber or vinyl resin.
Good luck!

That’s vinyl. It was used a lot in hot rods during the rolled and pleats days. I was really into reading about custom cars in 1964

Naugahyde Upholstery Vinyl Fabric...
I knew what you meant, even though it is spelled “naugahyde,” as in the multiple websites that list it.

oops, I fixed mine.
BUT, to answer the OPs question. Most of us have cushions that have vinyl on the bottom. A few do full wraps of custom fabrics. But I don't know of anyone on the forum that's done a full wrap of vinyl

Naugahyde is made from the skin of small creatures called Naugas .
They were discovered in the 1960’s on a small island near Tazmania

I bought a yard and a half of some sort of vinyl imitation leather to cover a chair seat. Got it at a place that upholsters boats so it is good for the great outdoors, and great for their gross profit. Cost a fortune.

They trap them with rat traps in boxes baited with French fries from under the seat of 32 Fords. If you brown them and put them in the crock pot with cream of mushroom soup they aren’t too bad.
Takes a bunch to cover a seat and even more to make a coat.

We put ultraleather made by Brisa in our 21 and love it. Ultraleather, unlike vinyl or Naugahyde, doesn’t cause you to stick to its surface, breathes well and is neither hot or cold to touch. It’s downside is that it is usually very expensive but we got ours on eBay for only $17 a yard.

If I wanted the look of leather I would go with Ultraleather.

Guess what? They use Poutine for bait when trapping for Canadian Naugahyde!

If I’m not mistaken, I believe this is what Airstream uses for their upholstery.

We ordered about 30 samples from Sailrite and ended up going with their "Naugahyde Universal Taupe 54 Vinyl Fabric." We took all of our samples to Escape and sat in the 21 trying them out, a lot of the beige tones that we initially chose did not end up working or matching as we expected. I don't have a fantastic picture on this device, but the Naugahyde colour did end up working quite well- if I was being super picky, it doesn't perfectly go with the shades, but you have to be really paying attention to notice. If you ask Escape, they might be able to provide a better pic. of it from our build or others.
We love the vinyl for being able to wipe it down if it gets dirty when dust blows in the windows and its very durable (I tested the samples). We have pillows and a couple small throw blankets if the seats get cool, but it isn't really an issue for us.
The 9 yards required for customizing the Escape upholstery with the U-shaped dinette was $143USD--> when you order samples, they give you a coupon for 10% off your order.
