Question Fridge Storage Bars / Sand Pads / Step Cover (?)

hi all

May I ask.... what are these things on build sheet?

I have read tons of threads here.... and have seen a couple 21' Escapes....

... but have not come across these 3 items

Fridge Storage Bars (as seen on build sheet) - for $12

Sand pads ($50)

Step cover $14

thanks.

Refrigerator bars are tension bars you can put in the frig to hold the food back from hitting the door while under tow.

Sand pads are screwed onto the bottom of the foot of the stabilizers. Lego blocks or blocks of wood work too, but these are always there... nothing to stow, forget or lose.

Step cover is just what it sounds like. Wraps around the outdoor step. Made out of recycled plastic and helps when wiping off your shoes!

All these things are readily available at RV parts places.

The sand pads - which are attached as Donna described - are larger foot pads used to spread out the load so that the stabilizer feet don't sink so far into soft surfaces (such as sand). They are the "basepads" listed on Norco's BAL Accessories web page, in the version to go with the style of jacks on the trailer.

If I remember right, the round ones are for a different BAL stabilizer. I remember Chuck had two different sand pads on his site. Let me see if I can find that information.

I was correct. The round ones are for a different stabilizer leg. This image says Camco, but BAL also has this type. You need the square pad.

Why not just order from ETI in Canadian funds?
You won't have to install them, and they'll be the right model.
Appears they cost $12.50 each or four for $50.
I see the ones that Donna found are $12.89 each US.

We have the square pads which were on our build sheet and we also often use blocks under them depending upon how far it is to the ground.

Pads

Here are the ones on my 17. I have added some 6"x6" wood pieces to the bottom of the metal pads, for longevity:

I use all three products.

Calling the foot pads sand pads, threw me for a loop as I had not heard that term. BAL product 23200 is what I used. Be aware that on my stab jacks (1) the bolt holes had been crunched, so that install took more than a moment to finish.

Those are, as the Amazon ad says, "Foot pads for BAL C-Style jacks". Sure enough, the part number (23200) and shape (square) corresponds to what BAL says fit the C-Jack:

If your Escape has C-Jacks (some have had other BAL models) then this is the pad.

You know, having just finished the infamous build sheet, I found this to be true in all of the options I researched.

That is, the brake controller, I asked ETI what model/type they provided, got that, researched it, and discovered it would've been the same model/type I would've ordered, and offered by ETI at a similar, or less cost than I could've gotten it for.

Likewise the WDH(Weight Distribution Hitch) and Power Jack, what I would've chosen, less or similar/same cost.

After that, I quit researching, and just went with their options/accessories.

YMMV, as is said here(Donna, I believe started that), so do, do your research, but that was my experience.

update - we ended up ordering the Sand Pads with our 21' 2017 and it sure is nice to just have one less thing to grab , and put away, when setting up and tearing down.

and the step cover is nice for cleaning the shoes a little more, on the way in.

Here are the fridge bars at work. I was using them on a shallow cupboard at the wheel well on my 17B.

Glenn, I think it is a male thing. That's the way they work for me too. They have never slipped for Debbie, so I'm not allowed to touch them....Oh Well....
