No doubt. I did the math. Sales numbers will be quite high today.

Congrats to all the buyers and especially to Escape and all their hard working employees.

And you know that page on their site isn't continually updated so the dates could be even farther along than they are right now.

ETI's been closed for orders since August, so there was a bit of backed up demand that hit. Seems to be quieting down some now. They did almost sell out the first quarter on 3 models on this first blast, so a pretty good start that indicates they should have strong sales for the rest of the year. With the increased production put me down for a September 15th date for the pool.

If you're organizing the pool, you can set the entry fee, the rules and the rally where the payoff will occur. With about 270 days left in 2017 to fill, a six pack entry fee could get into some serious logistics. Whatever you decide, let us know, chances gotta be better than the lottery.

Dave,
Might be a good idea. We could do a spreadsheet and give the award out at Quartzsite 2017, and we may even have some new Escapes there as well.
I'll thunk on it. Maybe Reace and Tammy would head down to the Quartzsite gathering to MC the award ceremony.

I'd vote for the 2017 Osoyoos meet, more owners attending.

At least you didn't have to go to a dealership and stand in line for a product that isn't even in production, like Tesla Model 3 buyers yesterday.

Yeah, the Model 3 won't tow... but the Model X (which also isn't in production, but is closer) is rated for up to 5,000 pounds (depending on tire size choice). Fine for an Escape - as long as your nightly stops are very close together, and always at serviced campsites!

You'd have to run the pool then for that one. Not retired can't make that event yet.

Actually Model X deliveries have started, not many. About 200 last year and it's ramping up slowly this year. I'm in an EV (electric vehicle) group and we've even had reliable sources spot one around town. But yeah, it's not going to tow your escape very far. You could always go partly electric with the plug in hybrid BMW X5 xDrive40e.
